Within the SVTI, the Pressure Vessel Inspectorate is responsible for all safety matters related to stationary pressure equipment and systems. Its primary concern is to prevent accidents, disruptions and damage during the operation of pressure plants.
SVTI is an inspection agency for plants with water polluting liquids that is recognised by KVU (a Swiss environmental protection agency).
Here you can find leaflets and fact sheets on pressure equipment and assemblies, as well as useful links.
The Market Surveillance for Pressure Equipment at the SVTI is the competent inspection body designated by the Federal Department of Economics, Education and Research, represented by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO, Product Safety Division, for the market surveillance of pressure equipment and simple pressure vessels in Switzerland.
The Federal Pipelines Inspectorate (FPI) is the technical supervisory authority for all pipeline systems and is not under the control of the Swiss Federal Office of Energy.
