Emergency drills
All pipeline operators are required to carry out an emergency drill at least once a year. These drills must be organized in a manner that ensures that all involved personnel and companies are able to participate in a drill in the course of the yea
At the beginning of each year, operators are required to submit details to the FPI regarding the location, date and scenario of their drill. In its assessment of the notified scenarios, the FPI examines for example the following aspects:
- Does the scenario correspond to an occurrence that could potentially arise?
- Which organizational units have to be tested?
- Is the drill an internal exercise or are local emergeny services to be included?
- As a rule, the FPI attends every third drill.
