Research and development
Research & development is an important focal point in the work of the NDT laboratory.
The focus lies on the further development and validation of non-destructive testing methods for relevant issues, the development of new approaches for data assessment with the aim of increasing reliability and the development of new hardware and software for specific issues. To this end, the NDT laboratory is involved in internal development projects as well as in national, European and international research projects. Knowledge of the ‘regulated’ world of NDT in nuclear technology as well as the ‘unregulated’ world of NDT in construction is a key aspect that allows knowledge to be transferred in both directions so that practical aspects of both mineral and metallic materials can be shaped more efficiently in the future.
