The Swiss Association for Technical Inspections is a private and independent company with around 80 employees, which supervises about 50,000 technical installations and equipment, 12,000 transport tankers for both road and rail, as well as a large number of packaging and compressed gas containers. More than 11,500 companies, private individuals and public enterprises are members.

The SVTI is made up of five departments with different areas of activity and different markets:

• Pressure Vessel Inspectorate
• Swiss Federal Inspectorate for Pipelines (ERI)
• Swiss Federal Inspectorate of Dangerous Goods (EGI)
• Nuclear Inspectorate
• Swiss Federal Inspectorate for lifts (EIA)
