Boilers and pressure vessels are among the oldest equipment used in industrial operations, and,  similarly, the Pressure Vessel Inspectorate is the oldest inspectorate within the SVTI. Yet much as the materials and construction methods used for vessels, valves and piping change over time, the structures and methods used by the Inspectorate also adapt to suit new market conditions.

Nowadays we see ourselves less as a watchdog and more as a partner that provides support to businesses and private individuals.
